You can be doing well on paper and still feel stuck in your own head.

Therapy for teens, men, and adults navigating overthinking, anxiety, and the pressure to keep it all together — especially if you're capable, high-functioning, and tired of it looking easier than it feels.

Luis Cardozo, LCSW

My approach is practical and collaborative.

Hi, I'm Luis. I'm a licensed clinical social worker and a first-generation Mexican American — a partner and a father myself. I keep this practice intentionally small so I can actually know the people I see. My approach is practical and collaborative, drawing from ACT, CBT, DBT, and self-compassion — conversational, not clinical. I'll push back when it's useful, not just nod along. I work with teens and adults, in English or Spanish.

What we work on together.

Anxiety & overthinking

Loosening the grip of the loop, without pretending it'll just switch off.

Emotional regulation & self-compassion

Widening your range past shutting down or being hard on yourself.

Men's mental health & life transitions

Fatherhood, relationships, and identity — figuring out who you're becoming, not just managing symptoms.

ADHD & executive functioning

Working with how your attention actually operates, instead of against it.

Common questions.

What are your rates?

Private-pay sessions are $200. I'm also in-network with select plans through Headway and Spring Health — we'll confirm your coverage during your consultation call. If you're paying out of pocket, you'll receive a written Good Faith Estimate of costs before starting services, as required by federal law. If cost is a barrier, ask about sliding scale — I keep a limited number of reduced-rate spots and I'm always glad to talk it through.

Where are sessions held?

Sessions are entirely virtual, for clients located anywhere in California.

Who do you work with?

Teens and adults dealing with anxiety, overthinking, emotional regulation, and life transitions — including fatherhood and first-generation experiences. Sessions are available in English or Spanish. If that sounds close but not exact, reach out anyway.

What's your cancellation policy?

I ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations and no-shows are subject to a $100 fee, which insurance doesn't cover.

How quickly will you respond?

I return calls and messages within 1-2 business days for non-urgent matters. This isn't an emergency service — if you're in crisis, see the Resources page.

How do I get started?

Request a consultation below, or email me directly. We'll do a short call to talk through what's going on, confirm insurance if applicable, and see if we're a good fit before scheduling an intake.
